Q: Is Acupuncture painful?

A: Acupuncture is generally painless and very safe.  We take special care to ensure that you feel completely comfortable before we insert the needles. We only use sterile, disposable needles which are extremely fine (approx. 1/20 the size of hypodermic needles). Many patients find it so relaxing they actually fall asleep during the treatment.

Q: How should I prepare for an appointment?

A: Please fill out the new patient paperwork we will e-mail to you upon booking your first appointment. Do not come on an empty stomach or under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Make sure to have a small snack before you arrive. You should allow up to an hour for your first appointment and 45-minutes to an hour for subsequent visits.

Q: Does my insurance cover acupuncture?

A: Many health insurance plans do cover acupuncture, we will call and verify for you at no cost. Please fill out the necessary information on the insurance verification page and we will get back to you shortly.  We also accept FSA/HSA funds.

Q: How many visits does it take to see results?

A: Most patients begin to feel better after their first treatment. However, the number of treatments you will need varies based on the individual and his/her condition. Acupuncture has a cumulative effect, each treatment builds on the previous one and patients who come consistently generally report the best outcomes. We will give you a comprehensive treatment plan at your inital visit.
